12 Pounds Gone!!!
I know everyone is ready to get themselves in shape over the summer. Being healthy is a challenge for everyone who have way too much fun being unhealthy.
So far i have officially lost 12 pounds in a month on my journey to get in better shape. The best part of it is that it didn't feel like a real struggle to get to this point. I still ate the same things, i just made sure to portion them out much better. I've made it this far with a bunch of apps that are free to everyone. There are a bunch of different apps available to help people try to get put on the right track.
Everything listed below can be synced together to get a proper evaluation of your body and what will work best for you.
Lifesum is a app that tracks your food and water intake. My favorite feature by far was that it would alter the amount of water you should intake based on the amount of activity you've done during the day so you won't get dehydrated. Once you log in you will be introduced to these options:
- Be Healthy
- Lose Weight
- Gain Weight
For those who have an iPhone you already have access to the Health app that can't be deleted even if you wanted it to be. Until you get a hang of what works for you this app will keep you in check. This app will track your steps but then you'd have to manually log in weight, sleep, It is not one hundred percent accurate because we tend to sit our phones down sometimes when we need to do things and it doesn't keep track of every step.
The last app there to give a extra push of motivation is the Achievemint app. For the people who look at this and think it is ludicrous to try and get to 10,000 points, you need to read the fine details. The more active you are the more points you are able to receive and it will not take years to get your reward. You can also get extra points taking surveys on the website. If you think it's a waste of time i do not blame you, but this app offers you the opportunity to earn something from the activities you are already going to do anyway. You will be making something out of nothing.
Only for the women:
The app "Flo" is there to track your menstrual cycle. It syncs up with the previous apps mentioned and it can predict when your next period will arrive based on your activity and eating habits. That could be another great piece of motivation to get your body back on track to a schedule. Prior to this my period was never really consistent even when taking birth control so this assisted me on getting a better handle on this. This is also helpful for those looking to be parents soon and want to keep track of your ovulations etc.
- Drink a glass of water before a meal (Makes you more full so you won't eat as much)
- Cut out sugars (Candy, Soda, Desserts)
