As I Am (Product Review)

This is for all of the natural haired black women of the world

If you are searching for products that really work for your natural hair this is a great start

Product Review

As I Am hair products happen to be some of the most amazing products i have used for my hair. As a Black woman it is difficult trying to find things that work well to manage my huge frizzy afro that appears after washing and blow drying my hair. On top of the difficulty, i have severe eczema, psoriasis and anything else you can name it that deals with dry flaky skin. No matter how many products test, i could never find anything to keep my hair moisturized and keep my scalps from being irritated and flaky. Since using these products i have only had to deal with the smallest fraction of what i had to before and i am forever grateful for that. I've said goodbye to the unnecessary steps to keeping my hair healthy

The packaging also is beautiful. As a graphic designer i can appreciate the simple elegant look that it has, and the comfortable feeling i get just looking at them. I believe that is what made me gravitate toward using this product and doing my research before buying a few things. There are plenty of YouTube videos where woman with natural curls use "As I Am" in their everyday hair routine. These are the ones that i have used on myself so far.

Coconut CoWash:
I prefer co-washing to regular shampoos because it adds extra moisture to my thick hair, which is needed more than you'd know.
  • Gently cleanses hair and scalp
  • Maintains and retains moisture
  • Easy detangling
  • Gentle for daily use
  • Safe for color treated hair
The main ingredients in the CoWash are Tangerine, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Saw Palmetto and Phytosterols.

Leave-In Conditioner:
  • Adds moisture and shine
  • Eases wet combing
  • Helps strengthen hair
  • Seals the cuticle layer
  • Beneficial if custard, gel or setting cream is to be applied for final styling.
The main ingredients in the Leave-In conditioner are Extracts of Coconut, Amla, Sugar Beet Root, Green Tea, Lemon, Apple, Sugar Cane, Phytosterols and Saw Palmetto.

CocoShea Spray:
  • Nourishes, softens, and boosts shine
  • Hydrates the hair shaft
  • Seals in moisture
  • Helps protect against weather damage
  • Moistures the scalp
The main ingredients in the CocoShea Spray are Coconut Oil, African Shea Butter and Vegetable Glycerin. This product seems to only be available online, and i can't find it anywhere in stores.

I personally don't care to much for dealing with my natural hair, so i don't use any of the other products that define the curls. I am saving that process for when my hair grows out to the length that i desire. I definitely plan to buy more of these products and test them all out on my hair and find the right combination for myself, and many women would agree that this is a good choice.

You can find these products at Walgreens, Target, Walmart, and a few choice beauty supply stores.

L'Oreal Pure Clay Face Mask (Product Review)

First I must say, if you haven't yet tried the new L'Oreal Pure Clay face masks you should definitely purchase one today. They are one of the most amazing products I have ever used.

I received these masks for free in exchange for a honest review of the product through a site called BzzAgent. This was the first item I had been given to review and I couldn't have been more pleased with what i received.

These three masks are designed to be fit for all skin types, it's just a matter of piecing together which one provides the best results for your skin.
Descriptions of each:

Red Algae - Exfoliants and refines pores.

Charcoal - Detox and Brightening

Eucalyptus - Purifies and Mattifies

Each jar is retailed for about $9.28, and there is a sufficient amount of product. I believe customers can get more out of this product than buying individual face masks. I received all three mask variations, which is about $30 I would have gladly spent to make my skin feel the way it does …

LEGION (Season One Review)

The first season of Legion has officially come to a undesirable end!

For all those that know nothing about Legion, He is the son of Professor X. This character falls into the category of antihero with Deadpool because he doesn't take into account the wellbeing of the world before lighting the place up. Legion has a super mutant version of dissociative identity disorder where each of his alternate personas has their own superpowers. So the first season only touches the tip of the iceberg with this creature.

The series is fascinating in many ways that surprised me. It will persuade you to feel as though you are tripping on acid trying to follow along with the missing pieces of time and the main character's perception of his fantasy world mixed with our reality. You will literally be taken through the mind of a man that was told his is schizophrenic for majority of his life. His mental break downs, traumatic experiences, nightmares, his demon is so vividly put on display for th…

Ke$ha

PRAYING
Ke$ha has finally come back with her new song titled "Praying". I think this is the happiest I have ever been watching one of her music videos. I almost cried at the intensity of her vocals and being able to see what she can really do as an artist. I've always felt like part of her was holding back and now those chains are off and i'm ready to hear more of her amazing voice.

How great she sounds is only the first good thing about this video. I love how empowering and vulnerable it is. You see the struggle, pain, and her willingness to fight which just made this even more breathtaking. This is beyond what was expected from looking at the cover picture. The video is below for the ones who haven't seen it yet. You will not regret watching this at all if you are a Ke$ha fan.

Her brand new album "Rainbow" is set to be released on August 11th, and I can assure you that I will be listening to every song on there. The anticipation to see this side of he…
